Monochromatic aquatint portraits of children in the process of having their faces painted hone in on a range of expressions and hands holding tools of transformation.
In this series of varied editions, each child’s face is individually painted in ten different familiar motifs. The children are named with an initial and each design they are receiving is indicated by a stamp and description to the lower right of the platemark. There is also one print of each child “before being painted.”
